Things I Learnt This Weekend

  1. Playing ‘youtube tag’ (clicking featured link after featured link) can lead one to blankly staring at the video to Y Viva Espana two hours later without any clue how or why you got there.

  2. Porridge with chocolate buttons is the way forward in life.

  3. Some days I just cannot write. And I shouldn’t feel guilty.

  4. Getting the skin on your neck somehow caught in the zip of your fleece jacket actually is somewhat painful.

  5. Maintenance of self is a long drawn out process and it is shameful I know but some days I would much rather be grubby.

  6. Watching the new ‘Harry Potter’ film made me strangely want to re-read Jill Murphy’s ‘The Worst Witch’ and some parts of Lord of the Rings. Odd, that.

  7. Twirl chocolate bars are very dangerous – if one is spotted you should pounce and eat immediately. I managed to get two of the little critters just today alone.

  8. Garages these days do not seem to stock ‘air’ for when you need to pump up bicycle tyres. How can ‘air’ possibly be out of stock?

  9. I still don’t understand all the jokes in ‘Yes Minister’.

  10. Cuddles with cats are one of the best things in the whole world, especially when the cats in question are called Ginger and Abigail.

Very much agree with #10. And I never found 'Yes, Minister' very funny.

Word verification is 'woospip!' :)

Woospip! A very rare fruit, the Woos. Pips exchange hands for fortunes!

I do like Yes Minister as I think it is probably very reflective of the British government back in the day (or now, who knows), but every so often it will lead somewhere and everyone else will be chuckling smugly while I will be slowly sinking in my seat thinking 'idontgeddit'...

I've just stumbled across your blog and I think it's fab.

Oddly, the day you posted this was my birthday and this could easily be a list written by me...especially the Twirl hunting (2 today!), the 'Worst Witch' comment, the 'Yes, Minister' comment... actually, all of them.

I'm now 'following' you (stalker alert) but my little picture isn't showing so it makes me looks lazy as if I can't be bothered to take one... but I did, in case you were wondering. You probably weren't but hey... I'm rambling now so I'll go.

Hello Kit, and welcome! I am so glad you like my blog, and that you are also an avid Twirl hunter. Together we'll get the little blighters! :)

Hm, I wonder why the little pic isn't appearing? Maybe it takes a while to catch up with itself, or maybe I need to delve in and fiddle with Blog's innards (dons marigolds and hopes for the best).

And a happy belated birthday to you!
